The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 has remained one of Samsung’s most innovative smartphones on the market thanks to top-notch security features, fantastic performance and its signature S Pen that allows for easier browsing, drawing, signing and remote camera shutter. It’s the perfect phone for professionals, artists and anyone else who needs just a little more out of their smartphone. Now consumers can look forward to the latest iteration of the high-tech smartphone when it is revealed later this summer. On August 15th, Samsung will be hosting an online virtual event that will showcase the entire Galaxy Note 20 lineup. But if you can’t wait that long, there’s plenty of info to hold you over until then.
In terms of tech and specs, you can expect much to be carried over from the Samsung Galaxy S20. The basic model is rumored to feature a 6.42-inch display with a 2345 x 1084 resolution. The Galaxy Note 20 Plus or Note 20 Ultra are expected to have a 6.9-inch display with 3096 x 1444 resolution much like the S20 Ultra. Refresh rates are expected to be as high as 120Hz. The 5G-optimized OLED display works to reduce power consumption, so your phone’s battery doesn’t drain as quickly. It emits less blue light which helps to reduce eye strain as well.
Performance should not disappoint in a number of respects. All models will likely carry a Snapdragon 865 Plus or Exynos 990 CPU. Additionally, the phone will likely have up to 12GB of RAM in the Ultra or Plus models, and around 8GB of RAM with the base model. Additionally, the higher-end models should have more storage space. The rumor is that the Plus or Ultra models will have up to 512GB of memory in the phone itself, while the basic model will have around 128GB. However, it is usually the case that you will be able to add additional storage with a SanDisk memory card. Battery size should be between 4,000 mAh and 5,000 mAh, ensuring a battery that lasts you throughout the day.
One of the most important features for many people is the camera. The base model is believed to have a 12 MP main camera with a 64 MP telephoto lens, a 12 MP ultrawide lens and a time-of-flight sensor. The higher-end models should feature a superior camera experience with a 108MP main camera, 13MP telephoto and 12MP ultrawide lens, along with a laser focus sensor. The Note 20’s camera is speculated to feature 50X zoom which should allow you to take excellent pictures from further away.
Of course, you can’t talk about a Note without talking about the S Pen. The Note 20’s S Pen is said to feature a new virtual laser pointer mode that allows you to use the stylus without even touching the screen. This mode will create a pointer on your display, which you can change the color, style and size of. But these are just some of the details that are known. Look forward to more information on August 5th including information about pricing and release date. However, it is rumored to arrive by August 21st.
